Baking soda is used for baking, cleaning, deodorizing, and for DIY personal care products.

We love using baking soda for it’s natural scrubbing power for cleaning things like the bathtub, the sticky residue from a jar label, or even your teeth!

Baking soda is used in all kinds of bath soaks & fizzies, foot soaks, balms, lotions and many other hand made products. It is a natural alkaline that neutralizes acids and washes away oils and dirt. It’s natural pH balance leaves the skin soft, silky and smooth. It is great to use in soaps, bath salts, and skin scrubs.

Instructions

For laundry use:  Baking soda can be used to whiten and clean your laundry. Since baking soda is alkali it is a soluble salt that can help remove dirt and stains. Add half a cup of baking soda to your regular amount of laundry detergent. 

For cleaning use:  Baking soda can remove tough stains and help eliminate odors. Make a paste by mixing baking soda with a small amount of water. Apply the paste to the surface with a cloth and scrub. Can be used on: ovens, kitchen tiles, microwaves, bathroom tiles, toilets, showers and may more!

These mason jars are smooth sided, with a one-piece silver metal lid.

Compostable bags:

The compostable bags for this particular item are recommended for commercial compost only as opposed to home compost. We will be transitioning the packaging to home compostable in the future – thanks for your patience!

If you don’t have access to commercial compost, you may consider purchasing baking soda in a recyclable paper box at your local grocery or convenience store.

Items packaged in mason jars include a $2 jar deposit which is refundable when you return clean, dry jars back to our Seattle storefront, where we will sanitize and reuse them. Most of our bulk options that are packaged in mason jars are currently only available for store pickup at our Seattle storefront – these will be marked as “Seattle only” or “pickup only.” Please choose bulk products packaged in compostable bags or aluminum bottles for shipping anywhere in the US.
